kenyan sports update

Osbrne Monday fails to make grade at Auxerre
Sofapaka midfielder Osborne Monday returned home on Sunday after a month long trials in Europe.

The defensive midfielder had unsuccessful trials at French Ligue 1 side Auxerre, "The trials were an eye opener but things did not work out for me as I would have wanted. I also attended trials at Belgian club Sint-Truiden which were also not fruitful,” said Monday.

“Despite not getting a club, am confident that the experience gained from the short sojourn will help me work even harder before going for other trials in the future," he added.

If the trials would have been successful Monday would have joined another Kenyan international Dennis Oliech who has been at Auxerre for the past three seasons.

Monday formerly played for Mathare United and Azam of Tanzania and also had a stint in Oman.
